"Peepshow" was written at the request of a friend, who plied me with the simple challenge of writing a story where voyeurism was an integral part of the story, and not simply a means of setting up a story. So I wrote from the point of view of a character that I was familiar with, allowing the reader to "watch" her watching. The inspiration for the three other central characters is taken from an image by Paul Defenbaugh, of a female raccoon in the moonlight. The element of incest was added as a result of a conversation, while I was starting to write, with the friend who first issued the challenge, wherein he passingly mentioned being vaguely intrigued with that taboo, and I decided to include it, just to tweak him. The writing is sloppy at best, but then it was never intended as anything but a quick bit of "stroke" fiction, so I'm more than a little pleased and suprised by the positive reactions it recieved as a whole.
